New day, new year, new me

With January coming to an end, I decided to reflect on my changes so far in 2019. I started going to the gym more often (personal training!!), and I’m eating better.  I have more energy to get things done, and it’s helping me both physically & mentally. So, I had to reward myself (in-world) with new clothes, hair, and a place that reflects the happiness that I have.  Even  though it’s below freezing outside, you can still enjoy rays of sun online, and that alone can bring a smile. 🙂

Yule Always Be My Favorite

Today is December 21st, or the Winter Solstice in my hemisphere.  It’s also Yule, which is a wonderful time to reflect on everything you loved about the year.  For me, it was marrying my RL best friend, Josh, in a beautiful ceremony in front of some of our beloved family & friends.   I will be forever grateful for Josh’s friendship and love, during the good times & the bad.   Whether it’s a serious moment or a chat full of giggles,  he will always be my favorite King.

My hero (in honor of Batman Day)

This blog is dedicated to my super hero – my partner, Josh

Today is Batman Day, where the world honors one of the most beloved crime fighters & champions of justice, Batman.  Growing up, my personal favorite super hero was Wonder Woman (and still is), but I also loved the compassion that Batman showed to the people he looked after, and even towards his enemies at times.

In the virtual world, one of my heroes is my partner, Josh.  He is someone that I know in real life as well, for many years, and as most people have learned, I refer to him as my “second husband” in RL.  This is because he isn’t just a friend, he’s a spiritual soulmate, along with being an honorary member of our family.  No matter what my family was going through, he was there for us, and remains so to this day.  His loyalty, and support for us, never needs to be questioned.

A flexible resolution

Like many, one of my resolutions this year is to improve my health.  One of the ways I like to exercise is to dance.  I’m not a professional by any means, but I do enjoy dancing around to my favorite songs, and at least pretend I’m a world class dancer.  Sure, I occasionally fall on my butt;  I just have a laugh, get back up, and keep shaking my tush to the beat… in hopes it helps meet my daily step goal for Fitbit!

“Pier” into your soul

The beach is the perfect get-away-from-it-all.   The sound of the water can soothe you, the smell of the salty air can refresh you, the power of waves can energize you.  Just to see the majestic scenery that creates one of Nature’s stunning backgrounds can make you forget all about your troubles for a while.   Standing on a pier reminds you to take a moment to stop, reflect on your life, look deep into your soul, and remember that the power of the sea is within you, and just as the shoreline can get better over time, so can  your life.  The ocean has the power to remove obstacles, and so do you.
